"at first" is used to talk about the situation at the beginning of a period, especially when you are comparing it with a different situation at a later period.
therefore, your sentence "At first I know another meaning of roger." will be probably followed by the sentence like "however, i forgot the meaning."
i suppose that you should say "i hadn't known another meaning until you told me."
